The Scottish Gallery says: Andrea Geile lives and works in Stockbridge in Edinburgh and The Gallery has represented her sculpture since the 2000’s. She studied Visual Art in Hanover, Germany, and has held residencies in Orkney, Sweden, Austria, Germany, France and Australia. She has undertaken numerous public and private art commissions. Her outdoor sculptures are made from Corten steel, often grouped with real plants and relating directly to the site environment. They are subtle interventions, merging into the landscape and are often only visible on closer inspection. Among others she has received Awards from the RSA and the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. She is an artist whose work keeps evolving and we are delighted that our beautiful gallery garden has become a home for her work. Andrea has made a new film in the gallery garden, discussing the latest developments in her work.
